In a cream dispenser, the gas dissolves in the substance and until the dispenser is used, the substance inside remains in a liquid state. Once a shaker is used and the substance reaches the air (when nitric oxide gas combines with oxygen), a chemical reaction occurs that turns the substance into a lustrous or much larger volume enhanced by the aroma.
